Erg Lihoudi Dunes Chegaga 4 Days Tour
Day 1: MARRAKECH – ZAGORA
Departure from Marrakech, early in the morning, by SUV. You will start the first leg of your journey through a road in the Atlas. Arrival at Ait Ben Haddou, visit of the Kasbah, and continuation to Agdz. Lunch at the heart of the Lasbah of Tamnougalt. Then, continuation via the Drâa valley, arrival at Zagora, dinner and night in a hotel or riad.
Day 2: ZAGORA – M’HAMID
After breakfast, departure in SUV towards M’Hamid. Stop at Tamegroute to visit the library, Kasbah and pottery studios. Then, continuation until M’Hamid and lunch. In the afternoon departure from M’Hamid via camelback with an hour of trekking to arrive at the bivouac of Erg Lihoudi, dinner and night in traditional tents.
Day 3: M’HAMID – ERG CHEGAGA
After breakfast in the desert, departure towards M’Hamid on camelback. Rest and lunch at M’Hamid. In the afternoon, departure from M’Hamid towards the huge dunes of Chegaga. You will cross a marvelous desert-scape before arriving in the sacred oasis. After another 15 kilometers, you will arrive at the dunes of Chegaga, the largest group of dunes in the Moroccan south that arrive at a height of 300 meters over 40 kilometers. Enjoy the sunset, dinner and night under a tent or under the stars.
Day 4: ERG CHEGAGA – MARRAKECH
After breakfast in the desert, departure by SUV towards Foum Zguid via the old Paris-Dakar route and the dried lake of Iriqui. Lunch at Taznakht and continuation to Marrarech. Arrival in the late afternoon.
