Day 2: MARRAKECH – AROUS HERDING GROUNDS
Departure by minibus in the morning towards Azilal and the valley of Aît Bougmez.
Our minibus will leave us at the village of Tamzrite N’Agouti where we will find the team of mule handlers that will stay with you for the week. Trek to the Arous herding grounds where we will spend the night.
Day 3: AROUS HERDING GROUNDS – TARKERTI VALLEY
During the day, we will reach two summits, Oumskiiq and then Agouwri, and we will cross high plateaus where semi-nomadic Berbers come during the summer to let their herds graze. From the summit, you may admire the verdant valleys around you. The contrast is striking against the plateaus that we will cross. Night in a bivouac in the Tarkerti valley.
Day 4: M’GOUN ASCENSION – OULILIMT VALLEY
Departure early in the morning to climb the Jbel M’Goun. We will cross the fantastic landscape surrounding it and we will arrive at the summit from where you can see the Tarkerti valley that you have just left. Descent towards the Oulilimt valley where we will bivouac. For those that do not want to ascend the M’Goun, you can follow the mule handlers for a day of low-key walking.
Day 5: OULILIMT VALLEY – AÏN AFLALFLA
Today we will arrive at the Aïn Aflalfa spring. Bivouac near the spring.
Day 6: AÏT AFLALFA – AIT BOUGMEZ VALLEY
After climbing the Aït Imi summit, we will rejoin the verdant valley of Ait Bougmez via an impressive path. Night in the bivouac in the valley.
